Helping to feed Madison County through good times and hard times
MadCo FoodCo was founded in November 2024 by Ashly Lovell in partnership with WNC Food Systems Coalition functioning as our fiscal sponsor. After struggling with health challenges and realizing that the fresh, healthy food she needed was out of reach for her own family, Ashly began organizing to make access easier for others.
What started as a local effort in Spring Creek has grown quickly. Through farmers markets and partnerships with local growers, MadCo FoodCo is launching a small food hub in November to bring fresh produce, meats, eggs, dry goods, and bulk staples to an area that has in recent years become a food desert.
Today, our mission has expanded beyond Spring Creek to strengthening food system infrastructure across all of Madison County.
